The Shortest Day

Winter solstice has come and gone without much fanfare. It is also known as the shortest day of the year. Winter solstice marks the day we start to gain 3 minutes of light back each day. Short days can be a real bummer. I like winter, but it is the least liked of the four seasons. How do the yanks do it? PCG has noticed that I've been in a funk the last couple weeks. I can't explain it really. Hard to put it to words. Just a little off. I knew something was wrong when I started to lose motivation to eat! She suggested I take vitamin D which was affirmed by Doc JV. He mentioned most people he sees this time of year have low levels of D. The fact that our body naturally produces vitamin D from sunlight is kind of amazing. There is so much about the human body that rings true of supreme brilliance, in creativity, in engineering and design not to mention artistry. I am also reminded of how delicate the body is when something so simple as lack of sunlight can throw you off. The body is a real wonder. Hope this vitamin D works. Make sure you consult your doctor before taking it. It's one of those supplements that you can take too much of. Here's to 3 minutes of additional light today! Take care of yourselves folks!
